Admission to drug treatment services

Applicable to: United Kingdom

All drug treatment services, whether drug-free or prescribing based are open to individuals who have drug-related problems and meet the International Statistical Classification of Disease and Related Health Problems – 10th edition (ICD-10) or the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders – 4th Edition (DSM-IV) dependency criteria . Admission is voluntary through self-referral, General Practitioner (GP) referral or criminal justice referral.
