In contrast to other drugs, those reporting cannabis as their primary drug of use are predominantly in the younger age category, with 40 per cent reported as under 20 years of age, a proportion that has remained fairly constant since the reporting period 1997 to 1998 (DH 2002). The ratio of male to female users was 3:1 (DH 2002).
