Young People's Substance Misuse Grant

Applicable to: England

Various funding streams in England from the Department of Health, Department for Education and Skills, Home Office, the Youth Justice Board and the Spending Review were pooled in 2004 to form the Young People Substance Misuse Partnership Grant (YPSMG) .  In total for 2004/05, €87.6 million (£58.9 million) has been made available.  The money is to be used by Drug (and Alcohol) Action Teams (D(A)ATs) and Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRPs) to deliver the young people aim of the National Drug Strategy, for example through providing universal drug education, treatment, Young Person’s Arrest Referral (within some areas), training, and early prevention for vulnerable groups.
