Lynne Wilkinson

As information officer for the National Collaborating Centre for Drug Prevention (NCCDP) I support the research team in the production of evidence reviews and effective action briefings on the most effective elements of drug misuse prevention programmes. I am the point of contact for information requests through the NCCDP email address and telephone enquiries and I co-ordinate the Information Service and provide evidence based responses to information requests. I have responsibility for the development and maintenance of the NCCDP library. I organise and attend conferences and meetings on a regional and national level and have presented in Brussels and in the UK on supporting evidence based practice. I also oversee website administraton, update FAQ, summarise and add reports and publications and write structured abstracts, media watch items and news stories. My other duties include general admin tasks, publicising and marketing the NCCDP in association with the Centre for Public Health Media Co-ordinator and identifying and recruiting potential contributors to the NCCDP news bulletin.

Previously, I worked with the Monitoring Team in the Centre for Public Health, co-ordinating the input of drug treatment data and before joining Liverpool John Moores University, I was information officer for the National Helplines: National Drugs Helpline, National AIDS Helpline, Drinkline and Sexual Health Wales. I was employed as information officer for NHS Direct during the pilots and I have worked as an advisor on a number of health related helplines, including the Health Information Service.
